Inner Yoga Trust recieves lottery funding for remedial yoga project
The Inner Yoga Trust today announced it has been awarded a grant by Awards for All, the lottery grant scheme that provides funding for local community-based projects in the UK, to fund Remedial Yoga classes at the Fenwick 2 Community Health and Well Being centre in Lyndhurst.
The Inner Yoga Trust’s Remedial Yoga classes will provide complementary treatment alongside traditional medical treatment to patients with long term medical conditions, helping to improve their health through the natural healing effects of yoga.
'This is a huge achievement for the Inner Yoga Trust and the Fenwick 2 Community Health and Well Being centre' said Jenny Beeken, Principal and Director of the Inner Yoga Trust. 'This funding will bring great benefits to the local community by providing an additional service to improve health and well being through Yoga. Yoga is a great way to heal the body from stress and strain. Through yoga postures and breathing techniques, it can help all kinds of conditions and pain'
The Remedial Yoga classes will also provide a learning environment where qualified Inner Yoga Trust teachers will further develop their skills, enabling them to specialise in teaching yoga as a therapy for long term medical conditions. Under the supervision of Jenny Beeken the teachers will work with patients on a one to one basis.
The Inner Yoga Trust’s Remedial classes will provide a valuable service to the local community. Patients can be referred to the Fenwick 2 centre, which currently offers a range of holistic treatments and therapies aimed at improving the health and well being of people in Lyndhurst and the New Forest, by their local GP.
