The Inner Yoga Trust school runs a three year Teachers Training and Awareness Programme, accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga.
Each year is distinct in its purpose. Classes for all three years are taught on weekends. The first year is non residential. Years two and three are residential and also include a residential retreat week
The Foundation Course is designed to give students an understanding of the Inner Yoga approach to postures and the importance of connecting this with the eight limbs of yoga. The practice of asana and the eight limbs of yoga gradually integrates our yoga into the rest of our lives. During the Foundation course students learn the postures working up from the feet and ankles, through the pelvis to the spine to bring life and awareness to the whole body. ‘Your Yoga Body Map for Vitality’ Jenny Beeken’s second book follows this structure, and is the main text for students on the foundation course.
The second year focuses on the Path of Yoga. We contemplate how the ancient sacred texts can have meaning in our life today, together with more in depth practise of asana, pranayama and meditation.
The third year concentrates on passing this teaching on to others, individually or in classes. |
