Inner Yoga is movement from the core of our being. Our body has the intelligence to know how it needs to move. Inner yoga takes the classical asanas, together with the philosophy of yoga and its spiritual aspects, and teaches them in a way that can transform the body, mind and emotions, touching the heart of our being. Inner Yoga is an integrative approach to yoga, which has been influenced by various teachers and traditions, including B.K.S. Iyengar, Vanda Scaravelli and Diane Long.
Pauline Sawyer is one of the founders of the Inner Yoga Trust. She has practiced yoga on an inner level for many years, gaining deep insight and understanding from the body and its link to the mind and spirit. Her inspiration comes from this practice and her work with Diane Long and Sophy Hoare.
This one day workshop will focus on reading and working with patterns of holding and tension in the body which reflect our emotional and behavioural patterns. The workshop aims to support students to gain awareness of and work to gently undo these patterns.
This workshop is aimed at students who have some previous experience of yoga and who would like to deepen their practice.

The Calderdale Yoga Centre (CYC), established in November 2009 by Jon Pearson, provides a venue for yoga and personal growth activities in the upper Calder Valley. The centre is comprised of a spacious hall with a high quality semi-sprung laquered French pine floor. This room has adjustable lighting mounted on beautiful, original, exposed timber beams and trusses. There is a comfortable changing area, extensive reference library, therapy room and kitchen.
