Yoga Teacher Training Postnatal Module with Jenny Beeken
Saturday 12 September and Sunday 13 September 2015 from 10.00 – 4.00pm both days.
In Yoga women are considered postnatal for at least two years, sometimes much longer if the labour and birth have been complicated. Particular practice can help enormously after an ‘easy’ delivery but also after any difficulties. Generally the principle is to ‘gather in and up’ after making space for the baby to go ‘down and out’ as this restores the pelvic floor, returns the uterus to its pre-pregnant state, restores energy, gives strength of mind and body to hold, carry, take care of a fast growing baby and all its responsibility.
This two day advanced yoga teacher training Postnatal Module covers:
- Pelvic floor function
- Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD)
- Back Problems
- Strain in shoulders and neck
- Weakness in the bladder and bowels
- Stamina levels
- Postnatal Depression
- Medical interventions including caesarean section, forceps, episiotomy, tearing, stirrups ect
- Other postnatal issues may be raised as part of the course.
